The "Franguette" (Franket) hazelnut variety is a high-yielding French selection, characterized by medium ripening speed and popularity both in France and Ukraine. Trees of this variety are medium-sized, with dense semi-vertical crowns and large, straight, light-brown trunks. Leaves are long, wide at the base and tapering to the tip. Fruit-bearing begins on the 6th-8th year after planting, with harvest occurring at the end of September.
The fruits of the "Franguette" variety are light-brown, medium-sized, weighing from 11 to 14 grams and 25-30 mm long. The nuts have an elongated shape with a ribbed upper part and a smoother lower part. The shell is of medium quality, light-colored, and easily separates without damaging the white kernel. The kernel is well-filled, has an excellent taste and high flavor qualities.
The variety is resistant to drought and frost, as well as to diseases. Fruits have high storability and excellent transportability, making this variety convenient for cultivation and commercial use in various climatic conditions.
