The watermelon variety Knyazich is an early-maturing and fast-ripening variety that matures within 68-73 days from germination to technical ripeness. The plant is climbing, reaching up to 3 meters in length, and prefers sunny, quiet locations with light, slightly acidic soil. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant seeds in warmed soil, as the variety has low frost resistance. Knyazich is characterized by high resistance to most diseases affecting melons, including bacterial disease, and it tolerates heat and drought well when optimal growing conditions are maintained. The watermelon fruits of the Knyazich variety have a spherical shape and an average weight of 4-6 kilograms. The skin is thin, light green in color with wide dark green stripes, and it is not prone to cracking, ensuring good transportability and fruit longevity. The flesh is raspberry-colored, dense, uniform, granular, juicy, and very sweet, without fibers, making this variety especially tasty and popular for fresh consumption. The primary use of Knyazich watermelon fruits is fresh consumption, although under high yields, part of the harvest can be used for winter storage and pickling. Average yield is approximately 350-400 kg per 100 square meters. The seeds are small, brown, suitable for both seedling cultivation and direct sowing in open ground. Thanks to its taste qualities, disease resistance, and adaptability to various climatic conditions, the Knyazich watermelon is one of the best domestic varieties for home cultivation and is popular among gardeners.
