KONNICHIVA

Konnichiva watermelon F1 is an early-season portion hybrid suitable for cultivation both in open field and in greenhouses. It takes 65-70 days from emergence to the first fruit harvest, and 25-30 days from female flower pollination to full maturity. The plant is semi-vining with a main vine length exceeding 1.5 meters. In protected conditions, it forms 2-3 vines, while in open field it forms 6-7 vines, which promotes optimal development and fruiting.

Konnichiva watermelon fruits are round, rich yellow in color with thin dark yellow stripes, weighing from 2 to 2.5 kg. The rind is quite dense, 1.5-2 mm thick, ensuring good fruit preservation. The flesh is red, dense, juicy, and crisp, with a sugar content of 11.5-12.5%, giving the watermelon an excellent taste. The yield exceeds 7 kg per square meter, making it attractive for commercial cultivation.

Konnichiva F1 is distinguished by its resistance to low-virulence races of anthracnose, tolerance to powdery mildew and fusarium wilt, which significantly reduces disease risks during cultivation. For planting with drip irrigation, a scheme of 1.4x0.7-1 m is recommended, while in the absence of irrigation, the distance between rows is increased according to local conditions. In southern regions, watermelons are grown by direct sowing of seeds into the ground, while in others, through 20-day seedlings. The variety is also successfully grown on organic fertilizers, highlighting its ecological adaptability.
