Tamerlan

Crimson Sweet type medium-maturing hybrid, developed by the Dutch company Nunhems. The plant features strong, long stems, well-developed root system, and abundant leaf cover, ensuring resistance to sudden weather changes and preventing fruit drop. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to Fusarium, anthracnose, and other fungal diseases, and it tolerates heat and dry periods well, requiring abundant sunlight and moderate watering without overwatering. The fruits of Tamerlan watermelon have a round-oval shape and large size, with an average weight per fruit ranging from 12 to 15 kg. The medium-thick, light-green rind is marked with large, blurred dark-green stripes, dense and crack-resistant, ensuring excellent field storage. The flesh is bright raspberry or red, uniform, crisp, and free of veins, with a sugar content of approximately 11-12%. The flavor is pronounced and pleasant, and the fruit retains its high taste and nutritional qualities during storage. Tamerlan F1 develops well on light, non-acidic soils with good aeration and can produce up to two large fruits per plant. With proper agronomy, yields reach 120 tons per hectare. The main purpose of this hybrid is for fresh market use, though processing and pickling of fruits are also possible. Due to its characteristics and disease resistance, Tamerlan watermelon is a reliable choice for cultivation under various climatic conditions.
