Vasco F1

Watermelon Vasco F1 is an early and high-yielding hybrid of the Crimson Sweet type, developed by the Dutch breeding company Hazera. The vegetative period of this variety is 62-65 days from seedling transplanting, enabling the harvest of ripe fruits in a short time. The plants are characterized by long stems, large leaves, and a strong root system, which provides resistance to drought and other unfavorable growing conditions. The hybrid is resistant to diseases such as anthracnose and fusarium wilt, as well as fungal and viral infections, significantly simplifying care and increasing crop reliability.

The fruits of watermelon Vasco F1 have an oval shape and weigh on average 8-12 kg, with occasional fruits weighing up to 15-18 kg. The rind is of medium thickness (10-11 mm), dense and strong, with a distinctive striped coloration: dark green with lighter stripes. The flesh is a deep red color, very juicy, firm, fiber-free, and seedless, with high sugar content (10-11%), giving the watermelon a sweet and pleasant taste. The seeds are small, black, arranged in neat rows, making the flesh more appealing to consumers.

Watermelon Vasco F1 is characterized by excellent transportability and good fruit retention on the vine, as well as maintaining its nutritional and flavor qualities during storage and transportation. The yield of this hybrid is in demand on fresh markets and is suitable for processing, canning, and pickling. The plants require regular and optimal watering to achieve maximum productivity, but their robust and compact bush with strong branches promotes early fruiting and uniform ripening of fruits.
