Affected crops and diseases: This pathogen has a broad host range, infecting critical crops such as sweet potatoes, cocoa, coffee, and diverse fruit trees including stone fruits and citrus. The primary disease associated with this fungus is black rot. Symptoms typically include dark sunken lesions on roots, stems, and tubers, which often lead to systemic vascular dysfunction, significant wilting, and, in severe cases, the complete collapse of the plant.
