As a phytopathogen, it targets vital plant tissues, leading to systemic physiological stress in the host.

The diseases caused by this pathogen typically present as necrotic lesions on leaves, chlorotic spots, and stunted vegetative growth. Impacted crops, which include various grains and vegetables, often suffer from diminished vitality, reduced photosynthetic efficiency, and, in severe cases, total crop failure.
