It acts as a necrotic parasite that impacts the overall health and physiological condition of its host plants through systemic colonization of leaf tissues.
Diseases and susceptible hosts. The primary host for this fungus is the black crowberry (Empetrum nigrum). The infection manifests as the appearance of dark, irregular spots on the leaves, which eventually expand and lead to complete necrosis of the leaf blades. In advanced stages, the foliage prematurely drops, and the infected stems become brittle.
