The primary hosts of this pathogen include potatoes, where it is a leading cause of dry rot, as well as cereals like wheat, barley, and maize, where it contributes to Fusarium head blight and root rot complexes. The infection often leads to poor stand establishment, reduced crop vigor, and substantial post-harvest losses.
The life cycle of the fungus is characterized by its ability to persist as mycelium or chlamydospores in plant debris or soil for extended periods.
