The fungus is primarily responsible for Botryosphaeria dieback, a condition affecting vascular tissues. Key host crops include grapevines (Vitis vinifera), almond trees, citrus, olives, and oaks. The disease manifests as internal necrosis of the wood, resulting in stunted growth, chlorosis, and the sudden wilting of shoots or entire branches during the growing season.
