The disease caused by this pathogen manifests as necrotic leaf spotting. Initially, small chlorotic spots appear, which gradually expand and turn dark brown or grey. These spots are often surrounded by a chlorotic halo. As the infection progresses, the tissues become fragile, potentially leading to widespread necrosis of the leaves, which significantly impacts the plant's photosynthetic efficiency.
