Anacentrinus is a genus of snout beetles belonging to the Curculionidae family within the order Coleoptera. These insects are recognized as specialized pests that impact various agricultural and native plant species by tunneling into the stems and roots of their host plants, which makes detection challenging during the early stages of infestation.

The primary hosts of this genus often include sugar cane and related grasses. By focusing on the internal tissues, these beetles can severely debilitate the host plant's structural integrity, causing localized damage that often spreads throughout the field if environmental conditions are favorable for the insect's reproduction.

The life cycle of Anacentrinus involves a complete metamorphosis, progressing through egg, larval, pupal, and adult stages.
