The host plants for this pest include various types of pumpkins, squash, and related cultivars. Both nymphs and adults feed by inserting their piercing-sucking mouthparts into the leaves, stems, and fruits of the plant. This feeding habit disrupts the vascular system and prevents the proper translocation of nutrients within the plant tissues.
