This species is known for its ability to induce distinct gall formations on eucalyptus foliage, which serves as both a shelter and a food source for its developing nymphs.
The primary hosts for Anoeconeossa bullata are various species of the Eucalyptus genus. As a sap-sucking insect, it targets the younger leaves and succulent shoots of the tree. While often manageable in stable forest ecosystems, the psyllid can become a significant issue in plantation forestry and nurseries where young plants are highly susceptible to damage.
