Apogonia (Apogonia cribricollis) is a member of the Scarabaeidae family, belonging to the order Coleoptera. This beetle is recognized as a significant pest in agricultural sectors globally, known for its ability to damage a wide variety of crops throughout different stages of its complex life cycle.

The host range of this pest is vast, affecting numerous essential crops such as cereals, vegetables, legumes, and various fruit trees. Because the beetle attacks both the foliage as adults and the root systems as larvae, it poses a dual threat to plant health, often causing cumulative damage that is difficult to manage without early intervention.

The biology of Apogonia cribricollis is characterized by nocturnal activity of the adults, who feed primarily on leaves.
