Description
Systematic position: Blissus diplopterus belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Blissidae (chinch bugs). This specialized phytophagous insect is recognized as a significant agricultural pest, particularly in regions where intensive grain production is practiced, often leading to substantial economic loss.
Host crops: The primary hosts of this species include various members of the Poaceae family. The most susceptible crops are corn, sorghum, wheat, and millet.
