Description
Blosyrus is a genus of beetles belonging to the Curculionidae family, order Coleoptera. Known as part of the broader group of weevils, these insects are recognized by their distinct snout-like rostrum. They are distributed across various regions where they function as significant pests affecting both agricultural and horticultural crops, requiring consistent monitoring by agronomists.
The host range of Blosyrus is diverse, encompassing various leguminous crops, vegetable plants, and fruit species. Field crops such as soybeans, beans, and young seedlings are particularly susceptible to infestation.
