Diloboderus (Latin: Diloboderus derus) is a significant soil-dwelling pest belonging to the Scarabaeidae family, within the order Coleoptera. Native to South American agricultural landscapes, this insect is notorious for its destructive larvae that inhabit the soil, targeting the root systems of various essential cereal and row crops, posing a threat to global food production in infested areas.

The damage is caused primarily by the larval stage of the beetle. These larvae, known for their C-shaped morphology and robust mandibles, reside in the soil profile.
