Eidophelus (lat. Eidophelus) is a genus of insects belonging to the Curculionidae family, often categorized within bark beetles. These pests are known for their specialized behavior, as they primarily target woody plants, impacting both forest ecosystems and ornamental nursery stock. Their presence is often linked to the general health and vitality of the hosting trees.

The primary host plants for Eidophelus species are coniferous trees. Adults and larvae focus their activity under the bark, where they disrupt the vascular tissue essential for nutrient transport. This damage is particularly detrimental during periods of drought or in overcrowded stands where trees are under significant stress, making them susceptible to infestation.
