Ellimenistes is a genus of weevils belonging to the Curculionidae family within the order Coleoptera. As significant agricultural pests, these beetles are known for causing considerable damage to various crops, particularly in regions where environmental conditions favor their rapid reproduction and life cycle completion.

These insects primarily target leguminous crops, including soybean and alfalfa. As polyphagous organisms, they are capable of feeding on diverse plant tissues, which allows them to persist in agricultural landscapes by shifting between different host plants depending on the season and availability of food sources.
