The Eubulus genus belongs to the Curculionidae family, commonly known as true weevils, within the order Coleoptera. These insects are significant agricultural pests that affect a wide range of plants. Their morphological characteristics, particularly the elongated snout, allow them to exploit plant tissues that are inaccessible to many other types of insects.

Host plants for Eubulus typically include various fruit trees and shrubs. The adults and larvae target specific parts of the plant, such as developing buds, young stems, or fruits. Due to their secretive nature, infestations are often detected only after significant damage has already occurred to the plant structure or reproductive organs.

The biology of Eubulus involves a complete metamorphosis. They typically pass the winter as adults in sheltered locations near the host plants. As temperatures rise in spring, they emerge to feed and mate. Female beetles deposit eggs into the plant tissue, where the larvae will hatch and begin feeding, creating tunnels that disrupt the plant's vascular system.
