The Flatid planthopper (Geisha distinctissima) is a destructive sucking pest belonging to the family Flatidae within the order Hemiptera. These insects are characterized by their wedge-shaped bodies and wings held tent-like over their backs. Adults typically display a grayish-green or whitish coloration, which provides excellent camouflage against tree bark and foliage.

This pest is highly polyphagous and infests hundreds of plant species. The greatest economic damage occurs in fruit crops, such as apples, pears, peaches, and citrus, as well as berry bushes and grapevines.
