Parsnip weevil

The parsnip weevil (Hypera pastinacae) is a member of the Curculionidae family, within the Coleoptera order. This species is an specialized herbivore, primarily associated with plants of the Apiaceae family. Its biological and morphological features make it a significant, though sometimes localized, pest in carrot and parsnip production systems.

This pest mainly targets crops such as parsnips, carrots, and sometimes celery. It feeds on both foliage and stems, posing a threat to the overall vegetative health of the plant.
