The pest has a diverse host range, primarily targeting root systems. It is known to severely infest coconut palms, rubber plantations, and sugarcane crops. Furthermore, various vegetables and fruit-bearing trees can suffer from larval feeding, which leads to significant growth retardation and plant mortality across different agricultural sectors.
The life cycle of this pest is deeply rooted in the soil, consisting of four distinct stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult.
