Marshallius

Marshallius is a genus of weevils belonging to the Curculionidae family within the order Coleoptera. These insects are recognized as specialized pests that primarily target the seeds and fruits of specific host plants, predominantly within the legume family, causing economic losses in agricultural systems.

The damage caused by Marshallius is primarily focused on the reproductive organs of plants. By infesting the seeds, the larvae disrupt the development of the crop, directly reducing yields. This is particularly critical in seed production, where the viability and quality of the harvest are the main indicators of success.
