Description
Systematic position: The ground bug Nysius graminicola belongs to the order Hemiptera and the family Lygaeidae. These small insects have become increasingly significant in agroecosystems due to their ability to survive in various habitats and their tendency to migrate in large numbers to cultivated crops during hot, dry seasons.

Damage to the reproductive organs during the grain-filling stage is particularly critical and can lead to substantial losses in harvested volume and quality.
Protection measures: Effective management requires both agronomic and chemical interventions. A key strategy is the control of weeds in field margins and fallow lands to reduce the population density. In cases of massive infestations, application of registered insecticides, such as pyrethroids, is recommended. It is essential to monitor fields regularly to determine the optimal timing for treatment.
