This pest is primarily found on wild grasses, forage legumes, and several horticultural crops. By damaging the plant's phloem, the insect disrupts the translocation of nutrients, which significantly weakens the host plant, stunts its growth, and may lead to a reduction in the overall agricultural yield.

The biological cycle of this species consists of several nymphal stages and an adult stage.
