Biology and life cycle
The life cycle of this pest involves egg, nymphal, and adult stages. Eggs typically overwinter in plant debris or bark. Upon hatching in the spring, nymphs begin feeding and secreting protective foam. Once they reach the adult stage, they possess jumping and flying capabilities, allowing them to disperse across fields and infest new plants during the growing season.
