The Oblong leaf weevil (Phyllobius oblongus) belongs to the Curculionidae family of the order Coleoptera. This species is commonly found across Europe and North America, often appearing in large numbers in orchards and deciduous forests, where both adults and larvae contribute to the potential stress of host plants.
This pest has a wide range of host plants, showing a strong preference for fruit trees such as apples, pears, plums, and cherries.
