The leaf weevil (Polydrusus cervinus) is a member of the Curculionidae family within the order Coleoptera. This small beetle is recognized as a pest in various agricultural and silvicultural settings across Europe and Asia, where its presence can cause noticeable damage to deciduous flora during certain periods of the growing season.
This insect affects a broad range of plant species, exhibiting polyphagous behavior. Common hosts include fruit trees such as apple, pear, and plum, as well as various forest trees like oak, hazel, and birch. Damage is predominantly caused by the adult beetles during the spring and early summer months when they feed on foliage.
