It is a migratory endoparasitic nematode, meaning that both juvenile and adult stages move actively within the host plant roots and soil, feeding on cell contents while causing extensive damage to the root cortex.
Host range: This nematode primarily attacks small grain cereals, including wheat, barley, and oats. Its wide host range also encompasses various grasses and weeds, allowing the population to persist in agricultural fields even when primary host crops are not actively growing, making it a persistent challenge for farmers.
