Rhyssomatus is a genus of weevils (Curculionidae) known for causing significant damage to various crops, with soybeans being a primary host. These insects represent a challenge for farmers due to their internal feeding habits, which protect larvae from environmental factors and surface-applied pesticides.

These weevils are characterized by their compact, hard-shelled bodies and specialized mouthparts used for boring into plant tissues.
