The genus Serica belongs to the order Coleoptera and the family Scarabaeidae. These small beetles often remain unnoticed due to their nocturnal and secretive lifestyle, yet they pose a significant threat to the root systems of various plants during their larval stage.
The pest affects a wide range of crops, including fruit trees, berry bushes, ornamental plants, and various agricultural crops. The greatest damage is caused by the larvae, which live in the soil and feed on roots, leading to the wilting and eventual death of the plants.
