Description

Tyloderma is a genus of weevils (family Curculionidae) known for their destructive impact on various agricultural crops and wild plants. These beetles are primarily found in tropical and subtropical regions, where they act as specialized internal plant feeders, causing significant physiological stress to the host species they infest.

Taxonomically, Tyloderma belongs to the order Coleoptera. Like other members of their family, they possess a characteristic snout used for feeding and oviposition. Their biological strategy involves exploiting the plant's internal structure for protection and nutrition, which makes them particularly difficult to manage compared to external foliage feeders.
