Description
The variety was obtained by F.M. Gasyamov and K.K. Mullaev from seed resulting from open pollination of the apricot variety Kichiginский. Originator — Southern Ural Research Institute of Fruit and Vegetable Growing and Potato Growing, Russian Academy of Sciences. The variety was submitted for State Variety Testing in 2006.
Medium-stature tree. Open, moderately dense crown with medium foliage. Red shoots. Weak coloration of fruiting shoots, many prominent stipules. Large size of the one-year-old shoot's protrusion under vegetative buds, strong branching. Small vegetative and generative buds, lagging behind the shoots. Leaves are round, large, with intense green coloration. Base of leaf is rounded, apex strongly pointed. Leaf margin is single-toothed. Leaf petiole is long and thin, anthocyanin coloration is moderately expressed. One vein, medium-sized. Flower is medium-sized. Stigma is higher than anthers. Petals are round, moderately closed. Calyx is cup-shaped. Pedicel is very short. Blooms and fruits predominantly on cluster branches and spurs.
Fruits weigh 17 g, round in shape. Fruit tip is rounded. Main skin color is yellow, with a covering anthocyanin layer consisting of very small dots covering 25% of fruit surface. Flesh is light-orange, tender, medium density. Fruit appearance is rated 4.5 points. Fruits contain 10.8% dry matter, 6.9% sugars, 2.5 mg/100g ascorbic acid, 1.8 mg/100g carotene. Taste rating — 4.7 points. Fruit detachment from pedicel is dry. Transportability is medium. Variety is of universal use. Stone is oval, large, making up 10.6% of fruit flesh. Color is brown, apex narrowly rounded.
Flowering and ripening periods are medium. Enters fruiting on the 4th year. Partially self-fertile.
High yield. Winter- and frost-resistant. High drought resistance. Slightly affected by fungal diseases and pests.
Advantages of the variety: winter hardiness, good fruit taste, and annual fruiting.
