Description
The Carmina winter barley variety is an early-maturing, high-yielding variety adapted for cultivation under challenging natural-climatic conditions. It exhibits high resistance to major fungal diseases and adverse environmental factors, as well as good winter hardiness and drought tolerance. Carmina is particularly effective when grown on light soils, where it achieves high yields, reaching a potential of 6–9 tons per hectare.
This variety is characterized by a strong productive tillering coefficient and excellent spring regenerative capacity, which contributes to the formation of a greater number of productive stems. Carmina responds well to spring nitrogen fertilization, further enhancing yield. The variety matures early, with medium maturity for heading, 1000-seed weight is approximately 50 grams, and protein content reaches 13%, indicating high grain quality.
Carmina is available in packaging of 20 and 40 kg, with seeding rates varying depending on sowing dates: from 2.8 to 3.6 million seeds per hectare. The variety is recommended for cultivation across all regions of Ukraine, including Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy, and Chernihiv regions. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, Carmina is one of the best choices for farmers seeking stable and high yields under challenging conditions.
