Saxa

Saxa variety green bean is a bushy plant 40-50 cm tall with a strong and straight stem. This variety is known for its early maturity: from germination to the first harvest, it takes about 50-82 days, depending on growing conditions. The pods are light green, flat-round, 12-14 cm long, without parchment layer and fibers, making them especially tender and tasty. Seeds are greenish-yellow or white, with a 1000-seed mass of about 190 g. Leaves are broad-oval, flowers are light pink. The variety is resistant to some diseases, such as Pmp and Ctl. Saxa beans have high taste qualities: pods are sweet, juicy, with increased sugar and vitamin content, and contain 2.2-4% crude protein and 11-13% dry matter. Due to the absence of fibers and parchment layer, the beans are suitable for fresh consumption and canning. Fruits can be harvested regularly every 5-6 days, ensuring an extended fruiting period and high yield of 1.5-2 kg per square meter. Each plant can produce 10-12 pods. For successful Saxa bean cultivation, seeds should be sown in well-heated, permeable, and fertile soils at a germination temperature of 8-15°C. The plant is heat-loving, with optimal growth temperature of +18-25°C. Seedlings are sensitive to frost, so sowing is best done in May-June. Timely watering and regular weeding are necessary to maintain high yield. The variety is intended for culinary use as a delicacy and is suitable for canning.
