The tree is small — 2-3 m tall, with a broad, weeping crown. It has mixed fruiting type.
Fruits weigh 4 g, dark red, nearly black when fully ripe, remain on the tree for a long time without falling off. The flesh is red, juice strongly colored, tart flavor. Fruits are of universal use.
Self-fertility is high. Annual yield is high, averaging up to 17 kg/tree. In wet years, it is severely affected by coccomyces, and by late August, affected leaves drop off, reducing winter hardiness. It is propagated by root suckers, as well as by budding and grafting.
