A high-yielding, early-maturing cultivar with excellent processing characteristics.
Description
Technical profile of the cultivar
The 'Zminshytcia' cherry, developed by the M.F. Sydorenko Institute of Irrigated Gardening, is the result of targeted breeding aimed at combining high productivity with fruit processability. From an agronomic standpoint, this is a medium-sized tree with intense fruit-bearing capacity, demonstrating stable yields exceeding 40 kg per mature tree.
Biological and commercial characteristics
- Ripening cycle: Early maturity (second ten days of June) allows the cultivar to avoid peak processing bottlenecks and enables early market entry at premium pricing.
- Fruit parameters: Weighing 6–8 g with a dark red skin color. The physicochemical properties of the pulp — high juiciness and a sweet dessert flavor — make the fruit versatile for various uses.
- Technological properties: The stone separates easily, which is a critical factor for industrial canning, jam, and juice production. The pulp density ensures good storage life (shelf stability) during transportation.
This variety is optimized for intensive orchards, where moderate tree growth is essential for ease of mechanical harvesting and pruning. Its resilience to the climatic stresses of Ukraine has been validated by years of trials at the originating institute.

Yield
Overall bulb harvest per unit area. Depends on both onion variety characteristics and agronomic practices, fertilizers, and irrigation. Under optimal growing conditions, an onion yield of 100 tons per hectare and above is not considered record-breaking. |
