Description
Clifton is a medium-height plant, 260–280 cm tall, with an ear attachment height of 85–95 cm. The ear is of medium length, with 16 rows of kernels and 34–37 kernels per row. The hybrid is adaptable and plastic, suited to various growing conditions, as confirmed by the recommended planting density: 80–90 thousand plants per hectare under favorable conditions and 60–75 thousand under less favorable conditions. The yield potential reaches up to 130 centners of grain and 600 centners of green mass per hectare.
The hybrid is included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth Region and is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Northwest, Central, Volga-Vyatka, Middle Volga, Ural, and West Siberian regions. Clifton is resistant to southern helminthosporiosis, moderately affected by common smut and bacterial disease, but susceptible to ear Fusarium and stalk borer damage. An early-maturing hybrid with early tassel flowering, allowing effective use in agronomic practices for achieving high and quality yields.
