The DN "Patriot" hybrid, developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the Steppe Zone of the NAAS, is engineered to minimize risks associated with typical field conditions. Designed as a three-line hybrid with a maturity window of 90–100 days (FAO 190–240), it simplifies fleet management for growers who need to optimize their harvesting schedule before the late-season rains begin.

In-Field Experience

• Harvest Efficiency: Because of its strong genetic resistance to stalk rots and smut, "Patriot" remains standing tall throughout the season. For the equipment operator, this means high-speed harvesting with minimal header downtime and virtually zero lodging-related losses.
• Pest Management: The hybrid shows excellent tolerance to the European corn borer. This reduces the need for frequent insecticide applications, lowering the overall cost per ton of production.
• Drying Costs: The semi-flint (crenated-dent) kernel type provides rapid moisture release during the final stage of maturity. This is a direct benefit for profitability, as it reduces the energy demand at the grain dryer.
