The "Khortytsia" hybrid is the result of long-term breeding work by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS. Developed by Ukrainian scientists specifically for local climatic conditions, this hybrid has firmly established itself in the portfolios of farms aiming for predictable results in grain corn cultivation.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

One of the hybrid's key features is its strong "immune" defense. Breeders focused on comprehensive resistance, which is critical for minimizing field losses:

• Phytopathological resistance: the variety demonstrates high resistance to helminthosporiosis, boil smut, and stalk rots, allowing harvest integrity even in years with high infection pressure.
• Pest protection: genetic resistance to the cotton bollworm and the European corn borer reduces the need for additional insecticide applications, simplifying the technological process.

Cultivation Features

"Khortytsia" belongs to the category of simple hybrids with dent-type grain, ensuring high moisture release rates and excellent commercial quality during threshing. The FAO 90–1240 profile allows for flexibility in regional cultivation.

The producer recommends adapting plant density according to moisture conditions:

• In regions with moderate moisture, the optimal density is 55,000–60,000 plants/ha.
• If irrigation is available or in regions with sufficient precipitation, density can be increased to 85,000–90,000 plants/ha, allowing the hybrid to reach its full grain yield potential.
