PLUTON MV — a mid-early hybrid of corn (Zea mays L.), characterized by high yield and adaptability to various climatic conditions. The hybrid belongs to the FAO maturity group 390 and features a dent kernel type. It demonstrates stable yield performance both under production conditions, reaching 110-141 c/ha, and on variety trial plots, where yields can reach up to 145 c/ha. The recommended plant population at harvest varies depending on soil moisture: 60-65 thousand/ha under adequate moisture and 55-60 thousand/ha under limited moisture. The PLUTON MV hybrid exhibits high resistance to several diseases, including southern corn leaf blight, bacterial blight, stalk rot, and common rust, ensuring reliable yields. However, in some regions, damage from corn borer is observed. Due to its cold tolerance and positive response to higher nitrogen fertilizer rates, this hybrid is an excellent choice for early planting and can be successfully grown in various agroclimatic zones, including the Lower Volga and Central Chernozem regions, as well as Volgograd and Lipetsk Oblasts. PLUTON MV is recommended for silage production due to its high dry matter content, averaging around 32%. Average yields of normalized dry matter across different regions range from 66.8 c/ha to 147 c/ha, exceeding standard benchmarks. The hybrid tends to exhibit double earing, further enhancing its productivity. Seed packaging is available in quantities of 70,000 units, which is convenient for farmers planning planting operations.
