POLESSKIY 216 SV is a medium-early simple two-line hybrid corn developed by the Polissian Institute of Plant Production. It is intended for grain and silage use, making it a versatile choice for agricultural enterprises. The plant is tall with slightly curved, medium-width leaves and strong anthocyanic coloring of the sheath of the first leaf. The ear is long, cylindrical, medium-thick, with anthocyanic stem coloring and orange intermediate-type kernels, closer to the flinty type. Tasseling occurs in early-to-medium terms, with dense ears and strong anthocyanic coloring of the ear husk. The vegetation period is approximately 130 days for grain and 100 days for silage, which corresponds to standard regional indicators.

Average grain yield in the Volga-Vyatka region reaches 39 centners per hectare, which is 40.8% higher than the standard, with maximum yields reaching 43.7 centners. Grain moisture at harvest is approximately 40.4%. Normalized dry matter yield reaches 129.9 centners per hectare, with a maximum value of 230.5 centners. The hybrid is resistant to stalk rot and gray leaf spot, slightly affected by bacterial blight, and moderately resistant to ear Fusarium and stalk borer damage, making it a reliable choice for farmers.
