BOTYANOVSKY

Botyanovsky grape represents a hybrid table grape form with an early-mid maturity period, ripening at the end of August. This variety was bred by amateur breeder Krainov V.N. and is distinguished by large berries, considered among the largest among the author's hybrid forms. The berries are egg-shaped, weighing an average of 9 to 12 grams, with individual specimens reaching over 20 grams. The fruit color varies from greenish in the shade to golden with brownish or rosy hues in the sun. The grape possesses a harmonious taste with a soft sourish aftertaste, due to the combination of 19-22% sugar content and acidity of about 8%. Berries hold firmly on the petioles, rarely crack, ensuring good transportability and storage. Botyanovsky bushes are characterized by high growth vigor with well-ripening shoots. Clusters are large, conical in shape, of medium density, weighing from 800 to 1300 grams, sometimes reaching 1.5 kilograms. The berry skin is quite dense but easily eaten. The grape has 1 to 3 seeds, which is the norm for this variety. Disease resistance is high: downy mildew is rated at 3-3.5 points, powdery mildew at 3-3.5 points, and the variety is also resistant to gray mold. The fruitfulness coefficient is 1.1-1.4, with pruning recommended to 8-10 eyes and a load of 35-45 eyes per bush. Botyanovsky grape is suitable for cultivation in covered culture, especially in central and northern regions where winter temperatures may drop to -23°C. Under such conditions, the vine is removed from trellises, pressed to the ground, and covered with spruce branches or other suitable material, additionally protected with snow. Thanks to high frost resistance and good transportability, this variety is an excellent choice for those who value large berries with a pleasant taste and reliable storage.
