Description
Guerman Krainov is an early table grape variety created by breeder V.N. Krainov through crossing the Talisman and Kishmish Luchistyi varieties. This hybrid is characterized by its early ripening period—the fruit is ready for harvesting in the first decade of August, which is approximately 115-130 days from the start of vegetation. The shoots have medium vigor and ripen well, and the flower is functionally female. The bunches are cylindrical in shape, large, and medium density, weighing from 700 to 1200 grams. The berries are oval, large, up to 10 grams in weight, light pink in color with veins, possessing firm flesh and thin skin that is not damaged by wasps and is almost imperceptible when consumed. A feature of the Guerman grape is its exquisite taste and aroma. The fruit has a pronounced muscat flavor with a floral aroma and a pleasant aftertaste of tea rose, which is highly appreciated by experts. The sugar content of the berries is 16-18%, and acidity is 5-6 g/l, which ensures a harmonious balance of taste. Due to high marketability and attractive appearance, this variety is popular among enthusiasts and professionals. Guerman Krainov is distinguished by high resistance to main fungal diseases: mildew and gray mold, as well as medium resistance to oidium. The frost resistance of the variety reaches -23°C, which allows it to be grown in various climatic conditions. The fruit remains on the vines for a long time, has high transportability and a long storage period, which makes this grape convenient for commercial cultivation and marketing.
