TEREMNOY

The Teremnoy grape variety is the result of selection by FGBNU VNIIViV, obtained by crossing the Astoria and Choten forms. This technical variety is characterized by an early-mid maturity period — about 130 days, which allows it to ripen in early September in the Lower Don region conditions. Berries have an egg-shaped form, blue-black color, and are covered with a dense pruina coating. The flower is bisexual, which contributes to good pollination and harvest formation. Frost resistance of the variety reaches -27 degrees, which makes it suitable for cultivation in northern zones of industrial viticulture.

The Teremnoy variety is distinguished by high resistance to major fungal diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew, which reduces the need for frequent application of protective agents. Yield is high, and berries have good sugar accumulation within 21.0-23.0 g/100 cm3 and a high juice yield — over 80%. These characteristics make the variety especially valuable for winemaking, allowing to produce quality table red and dessert wines.

Wines from Teremnoy grapes are characterized by rich and dense taste with light pleasant nightshade-elderberry nuances. Dry wines of this variety regularly receive high ratings at competitions, confirming their high quality and unique organoleptic properties. Thanks to the combination of frost resistance, disease resistance, and excellent technological characteristics, the Teremnoy variety is a promising choice for industrial viticulture and production of quality wines.
