A selective systemic herbicide designed for the control of annual and perennial grass weeds in broadleaf crops.
Description
Technical Potential of "Adelit": Selective Grass Control
The efficiency of post-emergence crop protection directly depends on the product's ability to identify the target without suppressing the crop itself. "Adelit," manufactured by the Cherkasy-based "Fabryka Ahrokhimikativ," is a systemic herbicide based on quizalofop-P-ethyl (an aryloxyphenoxypropionate). It is a specialized tool designed for the robust control of grass weeds.
Mechanism of Action: Molecular Precision
The active ingredient, quizalofop-P-ethyl, acts as a specific inhibitor of the acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) enzyme. Unlike non-selective herbicides, "Adelit" works selectively: upon contact with the weed's foliage, it is rapidly absorbed and translocated through the phloem to the growth points. By blocking fatty acid synthesis, the product effectively shuts down root system and meristematic tissue development. In field conditions, this results in the irreversible death of couch grass and other annual and perennial grass species, while ensuring total safety for broadleaf crops.
Agronomic Application Details
- Systemic Efficacy: The emulsifiable concentrate formulation provides high permeability, which is critical when targeting mature weeds.
- Flexible Integration: "Adelit" is ideal for post-emergence applications in sunflower, soybean, flax, winter rape, potato, and field pea crops. A single seasonal treatment is sufficient to manage grass competition within the agroecosystem.
- Application Rates: The versatile dosage range (0.4–1.2 l/ha) allows for adjustments based on the weed growth stage and the overall weed pressure in the field.
Integrating "Adelit" into a crop management strategy offers a solution for farms prioritizing weed-free fields without the risks associated with mechanical weeding or crop phytotoxicity. Its high selectivity, combined with a Class 3 hazard profile, makes it a balanced, essential tool for intensive agricultural practices.

Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |
