Ensuring clean fields with Stomp 330

Managing weeds in vegetable crops and sunflowers requires a proactive approach. As an operator, I prefer using Stomp 330 as a pre-emergence soil herbicide. It allows me to establish a protective barrier before weeds get a chance to compete with the crop. The active ingredient, pendimethalin, works selectively, keeping crops like onions, carrots, and cabbage safe while effectively suppressing annual grasses and broadleaf weeds such as lambsquarters and green foxtail.

Application and Performance

Since it is an emulsifiable concentrate, the preparation of the spray solution is straightforward, provided the soil is well-tilled. I make sure the seedbed is fine and clod-free to achieve uniform distribution. With a application rate starting from 3 L/ha, it requires significant planning, but the systemic action provides long-lasting control that pays off during the critical growth stages. When planning the schedule, keep in mind the pre-harvest interval, which can be up to 50 days depending on the crop, so always double-check the label requirements.

Manufacturing Reliability

I value the fact that this product comes from BASF production sites in France and Italy (Siena). It provides peace of mind regarding the chemical stability of the product. While it falls under the 3rd hazard class, standard safety practices are more than enough to handle it safely. Ultimately, Stomp 330 is my go-to selective tool for maintaining a weed-free environment from the very beginning of the season.
