A triple strike against weeds in corn crops powered by an innovative oil dispersion formula.
Description
Synergy of three components
At the core of "Eliot®Max, OD" lies a sophisticated combination of three active substances: nicosulfuron, mesotrione, and triketone. This synergy transforms the product into a universal tool for corn fields requiring complex weed control. Nicosulfuron blocks the acetolactate synthase enzyme, halting weed cell division, while mesotrione and triketone inhibit carotenoid biosynthesis. This leads to the characteristic bleaching (chlorosis) of tissues and the rapid death of both grass and broadleaf weeds.
Advantages of Oil Dispersion (OD)
The oil dispersion formulation is a critical technical solution for enhancing herbicide efficiency. Unlike standard aqueous concentrates, the oil-based carrier ensures:
- Denser and more uniform coverage of the leaf blade.
- Increased resistance to wash-off by rain shortly after application.
- Higher penetrative capacity through the waxy cuticle of weeds, which is essential when targeting overgrown plants.
Practical application aspects
The systemic mechanism of action allows the herbicide to move rapidly through the vascular system of the weed, damaging even the root systems of perennial species. As a selective post-emergence herbicide, it is crucial to strictly adhere to the application rate of 1.0 to 2.0 L/ha, depending on weed density. A single treatment per season is sufficient to effectively clear corn crops of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds. The product is rated under Hazard Class 3, requiring standard safety protocols when handling agrochemicals.

By type of action
By type of action
Depending on their ability to move through living tissues, herbicides are divided into contact and systemic. Contact herbicides cause local damage to plant tissue upon contact, which dies or gradually degrades. This action does not always completely destroy the plant; often, its... |

By application method
Based on the method of application, herbicides are divided into foliar, soil, and root herbicides. Foliar herbicides are applied to vegetative plants and act through their above-ground organs. The main method of application for such preparations is spraying using sprayers or airp... |

Herbicides are divided into two groups according to their mode of action: Non-selective herbicides — intended for the destruction of all plant species. They are applied in agricultural fields during the absence of the main crop (after harvest, before crop emergence, on fallow lan... |

By Application Timing
Herbicides are classified according to application timing into pre-emergent and post-emergent herbicides. Pre-emergent herbicides are mostly soil-applied or granular formulations applied before the emergence of crop plants. They are applied either pre-sowing (during pre-sowing cu... |
